Our Story
As such, in August 2024 the BSNDC-subcommittee — Biggar Old Time Music Festival Committee — was struck in an effort to preserve a central piece of Saskatchewan’s cultural, artistic, and historical heritage. The annual rural festival, the committee hopes, will serve as an indicator of increasing artistic vibrancy in Saskatchewan.
We are an unincorporated non-profit organization, run by volunteers and supported by donations, sponsors, grants, and self-made revenue.
Our Story
The Biggar Saturday Night Dance Club (BSNDC) has been working to keep old-time music and dancing alive in rural Saskatchewan for over 35 years. However, following the COVID-19 Pandemic, there has been a noticeable decline not only in Biggar, but at old-time dance clubs, music festivals, and polkafests across Saskatchewan.

Our Mission & Objectives
The Biggar Old Time Music Festival Committee’s (BOTMFC) mission is to ensure there is an environment in Saskatchewan which celebrates the cultural, historical, and artistic history of folks music and dance in Saskatchewan.
We strive to:
• ensure there is a strong awareness of the historical, cultural, and artistic merit of folk music and dance in Saskatchewan.
• support a culture in Saskatchewan that celebrates folk music and dance.
• ensure annual celebrations in Saskatchewan support cultural growth, community tourism, and folk music and dance in Saskatchewan.
